How to Order

TELEPHONE ORDERS: You may place your order by telephone Monday through Friday between 8 A.M. and 5 P.M. Pacific time.
We will accept Visa, MasterCard, American Express, and Discover cards.  Please give us the correct part numbers when ordering. Even though we are here to help, we are not trained, automotive technicians.

MAIL ORDERS: Please try to list parts in numerical order with a complete description.  Be sure to give us all the information so we will be able to accurately fill your order.  Shipments are normally made within 48 hours of receipt.  Visa, MasterCard, AmericanExpress, Discover, and Postal Money Orders are accepted.
SHOP IN PERSON: If you are in the Bay Area of Northern California, please visit our showroom. Our showroom is open for counter sales Monday through Friday from 8 A.M. to 4:30 P.M. We are closed on Saturdays and Sundays and all major holidays.
Note: You should consult local machine shops and mechanics regarding technical advice. Technical information is also included in the shop manuals as a reference guide.

Shipping Policy

GUARANTEE AND RETURNS: All of our parts are guaranteed!  If you are not satisfied with any part, simply return it to us in an undamaged condition within 30 days for an exchange or a refund. Returns will not be accepted on items with which installation has been attempted.  All returns must be returned PREPAID and shipped the least expensive way.  Shipping will be paid both ways if it is our error.  All goods must be returned in their original SELLABLE packaging. Any boxes that are greasy, tape repaired or shipping labels stuck to the packaging will not be accepted for credit. In most cases, there is a restocking fee charged on all returns. This varies but generally, this is a charge between 10% and 20% of the value. All returns must be accompanied by a copy of the original invoice. NO EXCEPTIONS will be allowed!  The liability of Thunderbird Headquarters is limited only to the replacement of defective parts. No labor claims will be honored.

SHIPMENTS INSIDE THE CONTINENTAL U.S.: We ship by UPS or FedEx within the U.S. whenever possible. 1/4  panels, AC kits, brake conversion kits, brake drums, bumpers, continental kits, convertible top frames, exhaust pipes and mufflers, gas tanks, leaf springs, padded dashes, QuietRide kits, radiators, seat foam, and windshields may need to be shipped by freight truck.  If you need to request UPS Next Day or 2nd Day Air or 3rd Day Select Service you will be charged the actual shipping cost.

SHIPMENTS TO ALASKA, HAWAII AND PUERTO RICO:
Shipments are normally made by UPS or US Post Office if requested. Actual shipping charges must be paid by the purchaser.

SHIPMENTS TO APOs AND FPOs: Your order must be prepaid by credit card or postal money order.  Shipments are made by Parcel Post.  Actual shipping must be paid by the purchaser.

INTERNATIONAL SHIPMENTS: Your order must be prepaid by bank card or wire transfer.  Please specify UPS, FedEx, or post office. Actual shipping charges must be paid by the purchaser.  All Customs Duties and clearance costs must be paid by the purchaser upon delivery.  We do not ship by ocean freight.

BACKORDERS: If a part is temporarily out of stock we will backorder the item and ship it as soon as possible.  If you are using Visa, MasterCard, AmericanExpress, or Discover, you WILL NOT be billed for back-ordered items until they are shipped.  If you have paid by money order we will refund you if we cannot ship the item within 30 days.

INQUIRIES: Please call our Customer Service Department at 925-825-9550 Monday through Friday, 9 A.M. to 4:30 P.M., Pacific Time to check on the status of your order. Please do not use our toll-free line for inquiries.

QUANTITY DISCOUNTS: We offer a quantity discount of 10% on orders for parts and upholstery over $1000.00. The following items have already been discounted and are excluded. Rebuilt parts, A/C units, wire wheel hubcaps, exhaust pipe kits, front-end rebuild kits, bumper guards, convertible top frames, upholstery kits, continental kits, disc brake conversion kits, power steering conversion kits, and brake booster kits do not qualify for a discount.


DAMAGES OR SHORTAGES: Should you receive damaged merchandise or missing merchandise due to a broken box contact the shipping company, (UPS, FedEx, Post Office, Freight Truck Line, etc.) immediately.  They will start the claim procedure.  Do not ship the parts back to us until the claim is resolved.  Keep all boxes and packing materials as they may want to inspect them.  We will do everything we can to see that your claim is taken care of.

LIABILITY: The seller, Thunderbird Headquarters, hereby expressly disclaims all warranties, either expressed or implied, including any implied warranty or merchantability of fitness for a particular purpose, and Thunderbird Headquarters neither assumes nor authorizes any other person to assume for it any liability in connection with the sale of this merchandise.  No labor claims will be honored.  The liability of Thunderbird Headquarters is limited to the replacement of defective parts. There is a maximum warranty period of 90 days on all rebuilt items.
